GULFPORT, Miss. (May 6, 2010) Longshoremen and personnel assigned to the Supervisor of Salvage and Diving division of Naval Sea Systems Command load an inflatable oil containment boom aboard the supply vessel M/V John Coghill at the Port of Gulfport as part of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response. Coghill is supporting the response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Deepwater Horizon was an ultra-deepwater oil rig located 130 miles southeast of New Orleans that exploded April 20 and sank April 22, causing a massive oil spill threatening the U.S. Gulf Coast.
